Finding the Information Needed for Technical Support

Please send all items to:

support AT sdgcomputing DOT com  OR  error AT sdgcomputing  Dot com

1.  Error Report

Both CubeSlice and the OLAP Client Management System save information about cube failures and other significant errors that occur. You can create a written report of this information.

In the OLAP Client Management System, press the Configure button and then press the Create Error Report button on the General tab of the Configuration dialog. When you create it, you will be asked if you want it automatically e-mailed. You can have it e-mailed automatically or you can manually attach it to an email addressed to support AT sdgcomputing DOT com.

In the CubeSlice Creator, go to the file creation tab and press the create error report button, and manually attach it to an email.

2. Debug Log

Both CubeSlice and the OLAP Client Management System save additional debugging information in the following file(s):
My Documents\My CubeSlice Files\Administrative\Debug1.log
My Documents\My CubeSlice Files\Administrative\Debug2.log (this second file may or may not exist)

3. CubeSlice Specification File

In some cases, problems will occur only for specific selections in a CubeSlice Specification (.cus) file. It can be helpful for us to examine the specific selections.

4. Database Information

If you are using SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008, you can script the definition of your Analysis Services database. Please follow these steps and send us the created file:

1. Open the SQL Server Management Studio.
2. Right-click on the Analysis Services (OLAP) database that has the cube with the problem.
3. Select Script Database as -> CREATE to -> File.
4. Send us the file that is created.
